Planum is a knitted upholstery fabric carefully crafted by Dutch design studio Raw Color. Characterized by a smooth, soft surface and subtle matte sheen, this textile is constructed using a simple double knitting technique with a predominantly wool surface. The studio took inspiration from a collection of three-dimensional objects to develop a versatile color palette of 20 shades, carefully selected from 350 hand-painted samples. According to Raw Color, this approach allowed them to create unexpected and unique tones. With excellent stretch, Planum is suitable for upholstering organic shapes with minimal seams, making it ideal for both contract and private use. This versatile textile also complements other three-dimensional textiles in the Kvadrat Febrik collection.
