Collection: Kvadrat Febrik

Kvadrat Febrik is a brand specializing in innovative knitted textiles, mainly used as upholstery fabrics. It was founded in 2008 in Tilburg, the “textile city of the Netherlands”, by Renee Merckx and Jos Pelders, who wanted to revolutionize the approach to textiles by reinventing knitting techniques. In 2018, Febrik merged with the Danish company Kvadrat, a leader in design textiles, which allowed it to expand its offer to include knitted fabrics and to use Kvadrat’s global sales and logistics network.

Kvadrat Febrik brings the traditional knitting technique, known mainly from fashion, to the world of furniture and interior design, offering fabrics with exceptional aesthetics, elasticity and durability. Their products are characterized by unique surfaces that combine comfort, modern design and advanced technical properties, such as stretchability without elastic threads or quick recovery after pressure. These fabrics are particularly valued in commercial projects due to their durability, achieved, among others, through a special wool spinning process.

The brand collaborates with renowned designers such as Bertjan Pot, Studio Truly Truly and Anderssen & Voll, creating collections that combine creativity with functionality. Examples include Suunta fabric, inspired by Dutch flower fields, or Rumor, made of over 70% recycled polyester. Kvadrat Febrik places emphasis on sustainability, using responsible production processes, such as using rainwater, and having certificates such as EPD, Greenguard Gold and HPD.

Their textiles are used in office, public and private spaces around the world, offering designers and architects the opportunity to create innovative interior arrangements. The Knit! by Kvadrat collection, presented during 3 Days of Design 2020, is a project in which 28 designers explored the potential of knitted fabrics, showing their versatility and three-dimensional possibilities.

Kvadrat Febrik is a combination of craftsmanship, innovation and an ecological approach that distinguishes the brand in the market of designer textiles.
