Sylvain Willenz

Sylvain Willenz, a renowned Belgian designer, has been creating furniture, lighting, and products since 2004 for a global clientele. Born in 1978 in Brussels, he has lived in the US, Belgium, and the UK. Sylvain earned his MA in Design Products from the Royal College of Art in London in 2003 and established his design studio in Brussels in 2004. He was recognized as the Belgian Designer of the Year in 2009 and continues to captivate with his minimalist yet dynamic aesthetic, drawing inspiration from production and manufacturing processes. Originally aspiring to be a cartoonist, Sylvain's focus shifted to product design over time, resulting in his iconic, bold, and graphic style that has earned him numerous awards and accolades. In 2004, Sylvain Willenz launched his own design studio and continues to impress with his distinct designs, including the Scribble family collection created exclusively for Hem, combining a playful imperfection with refinement.
